Creative Director

Location: Windhoek, Namibia

Position Overview: Afterschool Multimedia is seeking a Creative Director to work closely with our strategy, creative, and studio teams to translate strategic market findings into beautiful and purposeful content design. This is a key senior creative role that reports directly to the Studio Director while acting as the driving force across the team’s design output across art direction, branding, and campaign design assets.
Key Responsibilities:

Branding

  • Audit the brand, its competitors, and the brand landscape from a design perspective.
  • Use audience, competitor, and market findings from our strategy team to inform the art direction by providing mood boards and design commentary.
  • Develop initial concepts for brands (logos, fonts, colors, layout).
  • Work closely with clients to refine concept feedback into a final brand.
  • Deliver final brand guidelines documents which include brand marks, color, typography, imagery, and application with the support of a midweight designer.

Content & Marketing

  • Create best-in-class static content and assets across social and digital campaigns for our clients.
  • Build design treatments for our video and motion team to bring to life through animation.
  • Set the standard for Afterschool Multimedia’s internal marketing material, brand assets, slide decks, and document templates.
  • Own the quality, creativity, and delivery of the projects you are overseeing.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, teamwork, and collaboration within the rest of the design team.

About You: You are a creative thinker who is in tune with design culture, applying a high standard of care and quality to everything you do. You know how to leverage data and insight to inform design decisions in your work, manage your time, and collaborate well with others. You love bringing new ideas to the table and are confident in presenting your work directly to clients.
Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in-house or at an agency in a design role.
  • Experience owning the delivery of full-service branding projects from beginning to end.
  • A varied portfolio across both branding and content design.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and respond to client briefs.
  • Lives and breathes design trends, current technology, pop culture, and social-first design.
  • Inspiring collaborator, able to work confidently with others to achieve a goal.
